About Me
Amelia Fern is a London based Makeup Artist.
Since she was a child she was fascinated in how you could completely transform a character on a screen and the emotions that could be invoked with this.
The allure from this led her to attend John Ruskin College where she received a Level 2 and Level 3 in Hair and Media Makeup and her passion for makeup started to transform into a career path.
Amelia moved to New York City where she attended the Makeup Designory (MUD), completing the master’s program. It was during this intensive training that she designed makeup for a series of beauty and fashion photo-shoots and designed a range of characters.
She looks forward to being able to design characters for the screen and see them enchant people the way she was as a child.
Make-up is a transformative art form. The way you can completely reconstruct the way someone is viewed and the emotional connection that comes with it is something that has always entranced me. I set out to invoke the emotions that help you get lost in these media’s; whether that’s helping a bride to achieve the vision she’s always dreamed of, or a director transforming a beloved book onto the big screen. I want to help people believe.

Master Makeup Course at Makeup Designory NYC
In this 6 month program we go over corrective and bridal makeup, airbrushing, hair styling and character design, professional photoshoots, special effects and lab techniques
September 2021 - June 2022
Level 3 Hair and Media Makeup (John Ruskin College)
In this course we learnt about wig styling and application, period hair styling, prosthetic making and application and character design.
September 2020 - June 2021
Level 2 Hair and Media Makeup (John Ruskin College)
In course we learnt about working in beauty related industries including health and safety practices and client care, while alongside learning basic makeup application, body art, colouring and dressing hair and basic eyelash and eyebrow treatments in order to prepare us for our Level 3 Course.
